Paula Monjane

Paula Monjane is the Director of the Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL-Aliadas) program in Mozambique and the former Executive Director of the Mozambique Civil Society Learning Centre (CESC). Paula has participated in and led the joint technical team that developed the risk assessment of Non-Profit Organizations in collaboration with the government. Within the framework of the Pro-Civic program, she has been training CSOs on issues related to AML/CFT while also promoting a newly established CSO self-regulatory mechanism. Paula is also actively co-coordinating a regional hub for CSOs focused on strengthening CSOs to prevent exploitation for terrorism financing and to ensure that the unintended consequences resulting from global security agendas do not undermine civil society and civic space in Mozambique.
