internship Program

Spaces for Change accepts interns on an ad hoc basis. The internships are open to graduate or post-graduate students and recent graduates, who have specialized or have interest in a field related to S4C’s work, namely: urban justice, energy policy reform, gender, youth development and defending the civil society space. Internships are offered without financial remuneration.

All costs connected with an internship, including travel, accommodation and insurance, are borne by the intern or his/her sponsor.

Interns are required to submit a certificate of good health and, wherever applicable, to obtain themselves the appropriate visa. 

For international candidates, interns can check the visa requirements with the Nigerian embassy/consulate in his/her country. Here is the link to Nigerian embassies all over the world. 

The working languages of  S4C are English, Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa.

The duration of an internship is three months and may exceptionally be extended to a maximum of six months.

Upon completion, S4C will issue an evaluation of the intern’s performance.

Eligibility criteria

Only applicants who meet one of the following conditions at the time of application will be considered:

  • Be enrolled in an advanced degree program in a graduate school (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
  • Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship either prior to graduation, or within a one-year period of graduation.

Upon acceptance of the above-mentioned conditions, qualified applicants are requested to apply by writing a cover letter and curriculum vitae and sending to [email protected]

Only applications received through the email will be considered.

The applications will be considered by the appropriate divisions of S4C with a view to matching the applicant’s interests and qualifications with the current S4C needs. If as a result a meaningful assignment can be devised, an internship will be offered.

Final selection and acceptance

Please note that only candidates successful in the application process will be contacted. If you receive an offer, please confirm your acceptance as soon as possible by submitting the documents requested, that will include an attestation letter from an academia, a passport photo, a scanned copy of a valid I.D, and a recent medical certificate of good health.
