In a press statement issued on June 7, 2019, and published on Daily Independent, the Niche and other media groups, SPACES FOR CHANGE joined other concerned Nigerians, public and private institutions, shocked by the high-handedness of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), to demand an immediate reversal of the suspension.
NBC’s suspension of the operating license of DAAR Communications PLC, owners of Raypower FM and Africa Independent Television (AIT), on June, 06 2019, adds to the growing list of incidents of closing civic spaces in Nigeria, the statement said.
