SENSITIZATION AT THE VISA COLLECTION CENTRE, OREGUN

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Spaces for Change’s team was at the visa collection centre on Billings road in Oregun, Lagos State to sensitize passersby, visa applicants and youths who hang around the area on guidelines on the transfer of voter’s registration and why the should vote. They initially met with stiff opposition and skepticism as people thought they were political party agents making rounds to campaign. Undeterred, they continued on to Ikosi road and Ojota.[/vc_column_text][dt_gap height=”10″][vc_column_text]The initiative also took the campaign to the streets to enlighten youths and visa applicants from other states who may be disenfranchised from voting on the Election Day because they will not be anywhere close to wards or polling units where they registered.[/vc_column_text][dt_gap height=”10″][vc_column_text]The S4C team armed with flyers on which specific guidelines on the transfer of voter’s registration as well as cogent reasons why people should vote set out to conduct the sensitization.  Starting from the visa collection centre on Billings road to Oregun junction down to Ikosi roundabout, the team had a one on one discussion with visa applicants and those waiting to collect their visa’s, recharge card peddlers, food and snacks hawkers,  cyclists, conductors and bus drivers, shop and stall owners, roadside artisans as well as passersby[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
