IMPORTANT HEALTH NOTICE: EBOLA!

An ongoing Ebola outbreak caused by the rare Bundibugyo virus strain is currently expanding rapidly in Central Africa, primarily centering in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and neighboring Uganda.

Nigeria currently permits entry to travelers from Ebola-affected countries (such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan), but requires mandatory medical screenings, strict temperature checks, and the submission of a Health Declaration Form. Passengers arriving from these regions may also face targeted questioning and isolation protocols.

Key Entry Requirements & Protocols

  • Health Declarations: Travelers must complete an online or paper Health Declaration Form detailing recent travel history and current symptoms.
  • Mandatory Screening: Temperature checks and visual biosecurity assessments are strictly enforced for arriving passengers at entry points, particularly the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
  • Potential Restrictions: While transit and entry are still permitted, the Nigerian government has heightened biosecurity and may impose direct flight restrictions or mandatory isolation for passengers exhibiting Ebola-like symptoms.
